I've had the pleasure of working with Jeff Wilson during time spent coordinating Spanish language translations for Oregon State University Extension Services's Food Hero Project. Proficient, responsive, and dependable are words that come to mind when I consider the work Jeff has done, and I've especially been impressed with his willingness to go above and beyond to complete projects when extremely tight deadlines are requested. Additionally, his flexible approach is appreciated; he will often engage with an internal team of Spanish language reviewers in order to ensure final products are in alignment with language and cultural expectations and/or preferences identified as most relevant to program participants. The Food Hero program offers a website, www.foodhero.org and numerous print materials in English and Spanish language. Jeff has been an integral part of developing Food Hero's bilingual resources, which have proven to be an important factor in attracting other states, countries and Spanish-speaking regions to the website. The website has over 1.88 million visits each year, and the Food Hero Monthly magazine has subscribers from 40 countries, including many Spanish speaking countries such as Argentina, Chile, Columbia, Cost Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru and Spain.
